Current recommendations are that we attain and maintain a Body Mass Index (BMI) within the healthy range (18 to 24.9). What does this mean and how do we achieve this ?

Most researchers agree that weight change can be explained by a simple rule: Weight change = calories in - calories out

In other words, your weight will go or up down simply as a result of how much you eat and how active you are. While there is a lot of evidence for this rule, for many individuals weight loss and maintenance it is not so simple. Personal circumstances, genetics, hormone profiles, body composition, metabolic imbalances, dietary habits and lifestyles may contribute to weight issues and make it very difficult for individuals to reach and maintain their ideal weight. We help assess, identify, and address underlying health factors that may be impeding your ability to lose weight.
